What We Heard on the Streets: Plastic Waste Is a Shared Responsibility

During the street engagement on proper waste disposal, we listened to members of the public about their experiences and everyday practices around waste.

One message came through clearly: plastic waste is one of the most common forms of waste found on our streets.

Interestingly, many participants openly acknowledged that they too sometimes contribute to the problem, particularly through the improper disposal of pure water sachets and other plastic waste.

But the conversation did not stop at individual responsibility.

Many participants emphasized that tackling environmental waste requires both individual action and effective government intervention, from responsible disposal by citizens to better waste collection, management systems, public awareness, and enforcement.

These honest responses remind us that environmental sustainability is not about pointing fingers. It is about recognizing our role, understanding the challenges, and taking collective action.
