Who We Are
Centre for Renewable Energy and Action on Climate Change (CREACC-NG) is engaged in extensive multi-faceted climate related activities that seek to bridge energy poverty and improve access to basic livelihoods in hard to reach and underserved rural communities across Nigeria.
CREACC-NG was established in the year 2010 and incorporated with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), with CAC-IT/NO 54245 in the year 2012 under Company and Allied Matters Act (CAMA), as a non-governmental organization, CREACC-NG is advanced in PV design, installation and provides solar training and equipment maintenances as well as repairs, we have trained hundreds of renewable energy experts especially in the solar industry over the years. We have robust experience in setting up of solar systems; we have connections in the solar industry and knowledge of the market. The Centre also aims to provide affordable solar homes systems and enhances climate change awareness campaigns among Nigerians in order to reduce rural poverty.
CREACC-NG has over 10 years experience in the renewable energy sector, it has 11 staff, 5 full time and 6 volunteers.
We have Special Consultative Status with the United Nations (UN ECOSOC), we are also CSO Member to Green Climate Funds GCF; CSO Member Green Environment Fund GEF; Accredited as Observer to United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification UNCCD; Accredited as NGO observer to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change UNFCCC; and we are also NGO Member to GEIDCO China
At CREACC-NG we look at uneven development especially inequality as a threat to sustainable development that is why we engage in an extensive multi-faceted activities that seek to bridge environmental and unsustainable use of resources, build capacity and contribute for rural economies that are self-sufficient.
At CREACC-NG, we endeavor to identify and explore previously unexamined and under researched aspects of the environment and energy poverty, especially renewables which serve as a building blocks for sustainable future of our next generation.
Our Mission
We aim to facilitate and utilize the infinite, renewable and environmentally friendly energy resources for hundreds of off-grid communities, create awareness, train and build capacities of women and youth to contribute for sustainable Nigeria by 2030.
